Everyone needs to be reminded that Southend's fans were never more happier than when we were on the brink of extinction What a load of rubbish , the vast majority are proper football fans but of course you will always get a very small minority . Everyone needs to be reminded that Southend's fans were never more happier than when we were on the brink of extinction Maybe you need to be reminded that it was a minority. The sort every club have. Whilst that minority irritated me no end I was always aware that the majority of fans, whilst enjoying the rivalry between us, took no pleasure in our troubles. In fact the ones I knew were sympathetic. Like me. I have no love for the club but I hate to see a decent club with a big and loyal fan base suffering as they are. I wish them and their club every success in getting out of this mess. And look forward to the day we can resume our rivalry in the EFL. |

Things like what's happening at Southend can happen to any club and just because we ducked a bullet and came out the other side doesn't mean it can't happen again.I genuinely hate seeing good old clubs suffering because of selfish arrogant idiots.I wish Southend all the best lower league clubs really matter to their supporters and community

In the recent past I have had major trouble with their supporters, especially when we lost our league place and went into non League.
It will not affect Orient in any way if they disappear, so I can't understand this faux love in for them.
I think they will still exist after October 4th, but we'll see

Especially those with a strong, loyal, fan base. Which they have. And I recall words of support given to us from many clubs when we were in that position. So maybe my memory is longer than some. As for supporters. All clubs have their morons. May come as a surprise but so do we. I’ve witnessed that personally a few times! I don’t judge a club by a few idiots but by how the majority react and what they do. So for those who pigeon-hole 6000 supporters based on the antics of a minority need to have a reality check. |

They had 5823 at RH today to see them lose 1-2 to Fylde.
Their support is amazing for the position and problems they are in, can’t knock the fans loyalty. I just hate the thought of that rat Ron Martin making that much money out of that many loyal fans attending.

My reality check is every time I get a job to or from Southend, I check very carefully once I see them, do I want them as a fare in the back, never let them in the front, i never a take drunk, let them walk, they always haggle before end of journey, they won't pay soil charge, argue about anything, and the guys are not much better. |

Southend has bad memories for me
1. I watched them play Brentford in 1970
when the away team scored my friend you supports them started waving his scarf above his head
Next thing we know we are circled by a group of bigger boys as we were only 17. The police came and my friend and I were escorted over the fence and around the pitch - we both got outside and ran non stop to the railway station - there are two stations I can’t remember which station
I got the train back to Upminster and told my friend never ever do that again !
2. My first marriage was at the register office in Southend - that went ok but the wife turned out not good for me -
So sos ain’t got good memories for me and I ain’t ever going back there
Re Martin it’s obvious he just wants money plenty of that the club deserve a better outcome but I never seen them as a real opposing club
In the early seventies they played Friday nights at home with small crowds
