Pretty dangerous to announce a deal that is not genuine. Especially when the courts are involved. Martin isn’t the only player in this deal and my guess is the other parties involved are not mugs. The situation the club and Martin were in, I’ve little doubt solicitors got a legally binding agreement from Martin, no doubt including paying off debts. Some stuff still to be sorted but the deal itself is done unless due diligence unearths a nasty surprise. But I know some shrimpers are being cautious because of his past history. Understandable, he seems a slippery customer. More slippery than Eels in a bucket of snot. Just as I read the last bit of the comment my wife has called me into tea,I probably will not repeat the last sentence.

A great profile, second only to the great Ludvig van Beethoven. If you have never been to a classical concert please do and make sure it is a Beethoven concert.Prepare youself for the best experience in life you will ever have.Similar to the feeling when Orient score, only on a different plane and constant.

Another nail in the coffin for Southend. Tomorrow is D day at the high court as this is when the timeline the judge gave for the takeover to be completed by expires and with no end in sight currently its not looking good for them.

Boston were relegated under Steve Evans from the football league. They were due to go into the National League, but were related straight past them (National League rules) due to them being in administration in the prior May.
I think Chester were also relegated through the NL as well.

I feel both the court, & the National League, up to this point, have bent over backwards, to accommodate Southend, but it seems now, theyre losing patience.
When Orient were struggling 8/10 years ago, & were relegated twice in three seasons, including to non league, Southend fans were so nasty, revelling in our misery, so i have no qualms about what is happening to them now.
If they dont exist soon, so be it

Roots Hall could be the cause of the end of Southend United. Many local non league clubs have disappeared due to ownership of the stadium.

If they dont exist soon, so be it Not too sure an almost season long transfer embargo and a 10 point deduction which cost them a play off spot is bending over backwards. But I have to agree, the courts have been kind on the basis of promises, some of which have been honoured it needs to be said. The court respects the fact that this is a community club and slack given. Personally I think that is hugely sensible. Nobody wins if the club is wound up. If it stays alive the potential for recovery was there. Worth noting the latest NL ultimatum is far from friendly, definitely not bending over backwards but simply putting the knife in and giving it a twist. But sadly the situation continues to be farcical. For sure some Southend fans were nasty as you say. But the key word was ‘some’. Every club has its nasty element and we are no different. But I know lots of shrimper fans who, once the P-take was over, really hoped we would survive. They too have lots of decent, loyal fans who love their club as much as we love ours. I hope they survive, I don’t want any clubs to fold.

Especially an Essex club.I would like that rivalry back with Orient always being higher than Southend.
