Moncs was down to start in the friendly at Welling and looked well peeved off when he was told by Paul Terry he wasn't starting, he played the 2nd half and was one of the best players on the pitch, he was blowing out of his arse by the final whistle though 🤔

"We’re either going to be well enumerated ..." (bloody illegibles) Read that! Auto-correction strikes again, or just crap typing. Was funny. But typos can be at times.

Wellens confirms that George Moncur has been “ offered the chance” to join another club on loan but although he wanted to go the contribution of the receiving club wasn’t acceptable to the O’s. RW also said that Moncur is not up to the ethics and values he works by and needs to get fitter and be more professional. Seems like the verdict is in!

Must be frustrating for Richie to have a quality player not willing to put the work in despite taking a decent slug of his playing budget. Guess we will have to wait and see if GM steps up. Hope so.

RW also said that Moncur is not up to the ethics and values he works by and needs to get fitter and be more professional. Seems like the verdict is in! A very blunt and to the point statement from Richie and confirmed what many supporters have been thinking about why it is that the talented footballer George Moncur is not a regular starter for Leyton Orient FC.
Wonder if a compromise can be made on both sides and perhaps try to accept George as he is, taking on his positives by perhaps using his great skill in a way that it could benefit Leyton Orient. I repeat a previous post I made ''Perhaps GM would be better used as a deep lying play maker pulling the strings and spraying around the passes such as Alan Hudson / Glen Hoddle used to and going back a long time to the 1930s, the Arsenal midfield architect, the genius Alex James !! A position where you make the ball do the work rather than being in a role which involves doing a lot of running'' A role like that might well benefit Leyton Orient and also extend the footballing career of George Moncur.

Here's a chance for George to win everyone over. I think we all like his skills and talent but we want him to do more of the boring hard work and that requires him to be as fit as is possible for him to be.
A message to George, we all want you to be here, we all want to see you make your talent pay. You appear to have a fork in your life's road and it's in front of you right now. The easy option leads to league 2, then the NL and so on. Please avoid the ocean of regret you'll feel when you are 40 and look back at what might have been - but never was.

Very good comment by Fisch. I think that with George his Christian religion is the main thing driving force in his life and everything else comes second, but has he always been like this ?
Apparently when at Colchester he was a keen trainer and very well thought of. Reference Wikipedia ''Moncur joined Colchester United on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee on 18 November 2014, signing a contract until 2017. He admitted there was "some sadness about leaving West Ham... but I've got a new challenge in front of me now". His father John approved of the move, saying that "in terms of his football education, this is the right move for George". Manager Tony Humes described Moncur as a "great role model for all the kids at the club, because he works so hard, day in, day out."
A few lines down comes this insight into George's thinking ''Moncur described scoring the winner and aiding Colchester's survival bid as "unreal". He added that "God has a plan for me and I always knew something like this was going to happen" after meeting a "modern-day prophet" at his church in Loughton.

Well unless GM steps up, can see his contribution being down to sub appearances and Micky mouse cup games. Shame, as the club has a lot invested in him.

Tbh I really doubt that Moncur’s Christian faith has anything to do with this situation at all, there are numerous examples of athletes who promote Christian values but are rugged, focused individuals who take their profession with extreme seriousness. Unfortunately, George is just not built that way and talented though he is, with RW it’s a case of “ my way or the highway “ it seems.

If George stays we simply must get tough on him We want him in the team so he must get fit If he was weighed each week and didn't show a slight drop in weight he should be fined a small %age of his wage Give the money to charity or our supporters club

I really like Moncur as a player but he's a professional footballer and if he can't get himself fit then he should be fined by the club. That might focus him a bit

Good comments made by all above, it appears to be the exact situation, but Moncur is o youngsters and has been playing a long time. To be considered un professional at this stage of his career is damning and I don't think he will change. An expensive en passe and not good for the O's

Interestingly, GM himself was apparently not averse to being loaned out. So my fantasy scenario is: Colchester were the club interested in him, albeit not to the extent of paying a larger share of his wages. But now, having reluctantly lost Chilvers, they could possibly up their bid for GM.
