Is it just me or does it strike anyone else as peculiar that Southend are pleased to take Moncur on their books despite - seemingly- any concerns about the long litany of injury and illness that he has apparently dogged him over the last 6 months with us?🤔😆 I personally don't think there has been any. I think it was you who said if you don't comply then RW will cut you adrift and I think that's what has happened here. Shame, but there you go.

I don’t remember us as supporters have ever been so united on one topic. Best of luck George. Hopefully get you back in January Only my view but I don’t see Moncur coming back to the O’s whilst RW is in charge.👍

Not so much comply ( as in obey commands ) but more conform to RW’s “essentials” in terms of attributes I would say. There certainly is a pattern that I’ve noticed but Wellens is far from alone as a manager in being prepared to “cut adrift”,as you put it, individuals who don’t meet the standards he requires.

Cut off your nose to spite your face I think it’s called. Still, if we sign a decent replacement who fits our style better then all is well.

Max Sanders also got moved on apparently because his fitness levels did not reach the required level, he looked a very good player when he did play.

Has played for Crewe already this season. Went off injured after 30 mins in the 0-5 home defeat. Max Sanders also played the full game for Crewe in the opening game of the season, a 1-0 away defeat to Barrow who are at present top of the league in division 2.

I liked Max but for one reason or another he could never get near the power and fitness of Brown or El Mizouni, even Pratley.

Skilful rather than blood and guts running around for 90 minutes. If players don’t fit RW is quick to get rid. But as the manager that’s his choice. Managers get sacked quicker than players. RW has done well so far.

In GM first Southend interview he says he is living in Bedford and good to be back in Essex ( similar words ).
I thought the attraction of joining Lofc was he was coming back to Essex.
Are any football clubs interviews accurate. He also mentioned he has been doing extra training.

What happened to that style of playing ?

Interesting short GM interview here Den. He talks about the “ extra” work he’d been doing at the O’s and that the club was “ going in a different direction” . Make of that what you will.

Can only assume his house is in Bedford when he played for Luton and perhap family reasons chose to remain. I guess Leyton is a tad better than Hull, 90 minute drive so can get home daily. Perhaps now he will move. But yes he said similar when he joined us. He did mention extra training and he looks as trim as he has ever been recently. Shrimperzone forum raving about him after just 20 minutes last night. Hope he does well there.
