Netflix' Chef's Table is an amazing series. I hadn't realised they'd put up new episodes. Just watched one about 85 year old Tootsie. She's the queen of Texas BBQ. austin.eater.com/2020/9/4/21419077/netflix-chefs-table-snows-bbq-tootsie-tomanetz-best-linesAs owner of this forum, when Kent Teague asks me to visit him in Texas at some point to hear my views on football, I'm gonna ask him to take me to Snow's BBQ where the magic happens. *Kent is also welcome round my gaff at any time to air his views on Tech Start-ups, AI, and Roger's Hair Fashions on Leyton High Road.

I’ve started watching ‘classic’ British horror films from Hammer and Amicus. I loved those anthologies like Tales from the Crypt, Monster Club and Asylum. They terrified me as a kid but I now see them as cheesy ripping yarns.
Talking Pictures TV is a great station for British nostalgia and they show loads of classic ‘horror’ films with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.
Anyone seen the Human Centipede films? 😇

Wait till it is repeated on talking pictures. There was another corny effort on last night with Warren Mitchell as a put upon magician with super powers.Worse acting than the school plays. Is it £2.49 plus a monthly fee on Amazon Prime and do they do adverts during the film?

I haven’t got to the monster bits yet but I’m told the special effects are very ‘special’.

I splashed out and got the entire box set of Monty Python’s tv series. Lots of good stuff and loads of sketches which are forgettable. Hadn’t seen Monty Python in years and after watching a few they’d have to cut out loads of stuff these days to avoid offending people.
I’m enjoying seeing Fawlty Towers back on our screens, I wonder if the BBC will show ‘The Germans’ episode?

Reginald Maudling's naughty bits wouldn't relate to many these days.

I love warships and the names of those ships.I have been watching many videos on the pride of our Royal Navy present and past on you tube. The saddest of all,the pride of the British Fleet,HMS Hood, sunk by the Bismark which itself was sunk by a combination of aircraft and navy ships. Today I have been watching the making of the new Dreadnought class of submarines made in Barrow -in Furness. I have connections with one of our most famous merchant ships which was torpedoed off the east coast of America.

I was headed for a naval career when the defence budget cuts resulted in the curtailment of our year. We were offered openings as ratings (in Scotland) or a get-out-free option, we all took the latter.
