So Boris is recommending cycling to reduce obesity. Wow, exercise reduces weight and increases health and fitness levels. What next, a balanced, healthy diet. Can see why he made PM.
Of course the first fatality and people will be blaming him.. He got flack over Boris bikes, The “all those overweight people who had not cycled for years and with no experience having collisions with turning lorries and buses” stuff.

Got to be a load of free mugs in Wetherspoons... just enjoy my Spoons breakfast and always enjoy the free refills. Those these days you must get a fresh mug. Decent quality most of the time, though I generally stick to beans on toast or toast and jam. Hard to screw that up. And cheap. But the place is very quiet these days. As for expensive bikes. When my son got the bug he spent a few thou on a bike. Madness. I had a look, it was nice, but no big deal compared to my Carrera which is lightweight with bog standard block breaks and 15 speed gears. Does everything a bike needs to do. I guess his bike offers refinements I don’t understand and appreciate. But I definitely got the impression that it was more to do with pose levels than anything else. Got to have the right name on the frame. I think that politics and cooked breakfasts do not mix. As a result, I will continue to boycott this odious chain full of students and punchers, germs and sticky carpet and run by an obnoxious Brexit-loving chap. Apart from that it is tolerable.

Clearly your view is based on the owner rather than the reality of eating in the establishment. Spoons are generally very clean, well the ones I’ve been too, the staff are polite and attentive, does it matter if they are earning a few quid whilst studying, good on them I say. My goodness, what a snob you are. Maybe you should look into the percentage of profits that find their way to staff. During the pandemic there were many accusations aimed at spoons. Those accusations, including from Sky news, the Daily Star, Mail Online, Forbes the US Magazine and Labour MP Jo Stevens have resulted in printed apologies. Factually wrong. In the case of Jo Stevens her accusations have been proven to be lies. She cannot be contacted for comment. Odd that. No doubt people with a similar view as yours. Taking a view without looking at the facts. i have no axe to grind with Wetherspoons, simply go there for breakfast. What they do, they do well. And I can assure you I would not eat anywhere with sticky carpets. Like I said, your really are a snob.

I like a Wetherspoons but you do have to pick your establishment.
Some of the Ales are a dream to drink and well kept. The bottomless coffee is great and yeah the breakfasts are good. Curry and steak nights are decent enough.
Gotta pick your establishment though. I'm no prude either having been dragged up on the mean streets of Old Kent Road, Peckham, Bermondsey, Hackney, Dalston, Elephant and Castle, Walworth, Camberwell, etc. I'm used to a dive and love a knees up. But to be drinking cheap Carlsberg from 8 in the morning outside of an airport setting is just plain wrong.

Mike Grahams anti cycling rant on Twitter is just the usual twattishness (lycra louts and jumping red lights) actually fogetting what the self entitled motorists get up to......Getting the attention he craves...
He replied to me...I have a radio show sonny...I don't need attention.

Car pulled out on me tonight as I cycled down Plaistow High Street on return commute (I was doing about 20mph)(on the downward gradient going Stratford way) and I'm pretty sure the motorist panicked as you can't just stop pedaling on a fixie so long as you are moving....Not really a problem as I already read ahead to what he was going to do...

Been out in the motor the last few weeks and it is noticeably a lot busier on the roads with plenty of empty busses.
Can't really comment beyond Zone 3 or 4, but ultimately anywhere inside of Zone 2 is absolutely gridlocked.

I just wonder how careless motorists are because of the wretched phones including hands free. Most annoying are those that cycle on the pavement whilst on the phone.Do you notice when motorists are phoning howling? I have even seen one wheel willies in the middle of the road on the phone.Have to laugh though, only young once, but you do get concerned for their safety.

Yesterday I counted four cars with that stupid exhausts that went bang pop bang...Two or three speeding and driving madly....At least the boy racer down Poplar High Street waited till I was out of the way before he put his foot on the pedal to catch up with the traffic at the llights....and the twat at Plaistow who couldn't wait (to be honest that is rare,though)...but I had read ahead so I was ready...I actually speeded up to make it look worse than it was...which was the doings of a bad person but I didn't make a big deal of it...I was in a good mood....Yesterday was a hard commute back with the temprature and the fact I had been up since 3am.....Today was relatively easy and most if not all were chilled...

He replied to me...I have a radio show sonny...I don't need attention. I though people who have radio shows crave attention. Isn’t that their job? Yes by having the views he has will get all the motorists ringing up and the upset cyclists ringing up also...
I think his views are quite dangerous as are Pimlico Plumbers...I mean sometimes I think people deliberately do the dodgy driving trick...A few months ago some guy in a BMW pulled up alongside me in Stratford and told me to get in the f@cking cycle lane...I should have told him to poke it...but it's not really any use having an irate motorist trying to run you down...but I must say that's a rarity...although I had one further up the road who virtually did the same thing unbeknown to him I was just about to join the cycle lane anyway because it was a safe bit...The other bit faffs about with bus stops and pedestrians and dodgy left hand turning cars...
Yesterday was quite manic and I was wondering whether everyone was on drugs...

Great effort. I’ve only just got back in the saddle. Last couple of months have been really tired, don’t know why. GP not identified anything, which is good. But weight piles on, get breathless too easy and no energy. Struggle with 35 metres, 35k - not a chance. I can only dream of doing that right now.
Will admit, posting on here with other cyclists was quite a boost.what’s happened to Howling, hope he is OK.
So pushing on. Watched the Crawley game from the comfort of my spinner. No great resistance, but put in the minutes. The game helped no end. It’s quite surprising but the more I cycle, the better I feel. So far. So back to the daily exercise.

Yeah I'm back commuting daily on the bike and it really does make you feel better.
Not including silly distances like today just the commute makes me hit 100k a week.
Since the start of September I've gone from 18.5 stone down to 17.5 stone. Buzzing for that.
