Two experienced managers lost their jobs today Keith Curle Paul Tisdale Just noticed that Curle’s right hand man - ex O Colin West- was also let go by Northampton at the same time.

I think we should look closely at Tisdale.

Tisdale lasted just three months at Bristol Rovers, after surviving only about a year at Milton Keynes.

We do give our managers a chance.Time is in short supply for some owners, but we endure.Hope their faith in Ross works out for all of us.

Tisdale lasted just three months at Bristol Rovers, after surviving only about a year at Milton Keynes. For sure. Didn’t work out for him. It happens. How many managers have been sacked but then gone on to be successful elsewhere. I can name one close to home. Especially those who go back to the level where they demonstrated the ability. Decent record at Exeter on probably what was a modest budget. And 18 months at Milton Keynes, 42% win rate, promotion too. Hugely experienced, proven winner. I’d take him in a heartbeat. But of course he would never consider us would he!

I think any of the managers you mention would have made a far better job at running the team that we have at present and would be more attractive to watch as well. I must agree that in terms of organisation and playing to a pattern the teams Petchey put out were probably as good as any the club has ever had. From what I recall, the Petchey style was a variation of the classic 1950s Spurs push and run. Sometimes in those very muddy pitches of that era a longer ball type of game was more suitable so the short passing style did not work so well, especially in the winter seasons. On the better pitches we have nowadays, that sort of style would have been very effective and good to watch. My favourite all round manager was Jimmy Bloomfield, great man and his teams played open and attacking football and the 1969 -70 team was so good to watch playing with Brabrook and Lazarus on the wings, 2 fast attacking fast fullbacks in Denis Rofe and Mick Jones, so many great players in that team, every player an Os hero !

For a short while I stood in the west side and I remember in one game a player got injured and while he was being treated Lazarus came over to our wall ,put his foot up and did his laces up and had a chat and a laugh with the fans . Wouldn't happen now of course. Also remember Lazarus doing his lap of the pitch after scoring . Characters !

Don't forget the kick from the goalkeeper and the great Micky Bullock heading it to the wingers to capitalize on,a. truly great team and had to be extremely fit for those quagmire pitches

If he knows something about organising a defence, we could save some more cash and senda Danny packing.

Status Quo for me,many teams have fallen to the wayside when they have released a manager. We are not doing too bad. They have little experience of musical chords let alone football management Perhaps appoint Brittany Spears instead to add a bit of glamour
