We don't enter footballs teams as the four home nations hold 1 vote each on the IFAB which the 3 smaller countries don't want to lose as its a massive voice to have. As FIFA is the other vote holder you can see how strong a hand each of the home nations hold over the game. Don't forget it was the 4 home nations who set it up back in 1886 as a collective. This board runs football. The fear has always been if we enter teams then they will force us to play as Great Britain and no one wants to lose their identity which I fully understand. Completely correct as this Daily Mail news item confirms.
Revealed: Why Team GB don't have a football team at the 2024 Paris Olympics despite the men's team being record winners of the competition.
Strange though that the UK Women's team still enter for it though ?
Why is there no Team GB women’s football team? In contrast, Team GB has sent a women’s football team to two of the last three Olympic Games but failed to qualify for Paris 2024. England, as the highest ranked women’s team among the four home nations, were responsible for landing any prospective British contingent a place at this summer’s Games via the inaugural Women’s Nations League, bBut despite them thrashing Scotland in a must-win match last December, the Netherlands’ battering of Belgium meant the Dutch topped their group on goal difference and progressed to the Nations League semi-finals. With only the Nations League finalists – Germany and Spain – qualifying for the Olympics, Team GB’s hopes were crushed. inews.co.uk/sport/olympics/why-team-gb-no-football-paris-2024-olympics-3186868?srsltid=AfmBOopp2fqrA7Oq8NqVwMwhET-nO8iyYwRG1Jt-vToDNbPVf-3C3wdX

The whole area around the Olympic Stadium changed for the better due to the 2012 Olympics.Caught in some dreadful traffic jams on the Eastway during the building, but it did give time looking at the civil engineering of the works needed and the admiration of the planning and execution of those plans and works. A reluctant at first but when we went to Stratford station on the first day we was caught up in the joy and exhilaration of it all. Remember all the works in Leyton going on,such a great improvement.See many away supporters looking at the Olympic park, the City and Canary Wharf from the railway bridge. The best time and there were many was the Saturday night in the athletic stadium when those gold medals were won.Great Britain at its best, long live the Union. I also viewed some of it on my 3D television.Could not view long as it gave us an headache.Had a pop at Sky when 3D was turned off as I had spent a few bob on extra viewing glasses if gusts came.I believe i got something in return but they soon got that back with price rises.

Clucking Bell. Seems the Rail Network in France has been vandalised hours before the opening ceremony. Disruptions have occurred. We wait to see who claims “credit”

No credit to who done it,but it not a surprise.Discontent with our political elite is on the rise over the Western world.A lot of people are loving it all.

One of the best jobs I’ve ever had,was working for the London Olympics 2012 Fantastic experience made better by people helping out. They took up the running track and put pieces on frames with certificates of authenticity. Sold at the London Stadium. Got one in my study. And my tickets too. Saw the football Gold medal game, the Para opening ceremony and more. The flame went past my house, I stood opposite side of the road and got a great picture of the runner, my family and house, I called out so has the carrier looking straight at the camera. Timed to lucky perfection given the hubbub going on. That picture is on my study wall. At a company function Seb Co presented the bid put together by the GB team. It was brilliant. Not surprised we got the games. Definitely something we got right from start to finish. I was actually talking about this with a friend just the other day. I was saying that I think we don't really fully appreciated what an amazing games we put together, and didnt really take in what a once in a lifetime event it essentially was. But looking back now it's always with warmth, and as you say we nailed everything from A to Z and the fact that the biggest athletes did as well just makes it perfect. Mo Farah and his two races being just the absolute epitome of what London 2012 was.

I got tickets for the rowing, Athletics and Mountain Biking in 2012. Everything was so well run and everyone was so happy and smiling. It was hard to believe that I was still in London as it was such a changed city, full of smiles, it was such a great feel good factor. It didnt last long though. That evening when we won three Gold Medals in 45 minutes in the Athletics has to be the greatest British sporting moment ever. Our target is between 50-70 medals, the highest ever. No Russians representing their country again this year, save for a few ‘independent’ athletes and so-called ‘dual nationalities’. I wonder if Putin was behind the sabotage of the French rail network?

Sorry for everyone there this evening, it's tanking it down. I wonder if all this celebration of human diversity is aimed at Trump/Putin and the like. If Le Pen had won the recent election, we wouldn't have seen anything like this.
Vivre le difference!
