Yes However RW did say in his own words in a recent interview that he was aware that he had not stayed at other clubs very long and he needed to demonstrate a longer tenure ( or words to that effect) he did indeed say that and I would like to think this is a indicator that he's more likely to stay than go. I know he's linked to the Barnsley job, but they've just sacked a manger whilst in the play offs, that's says to me Salford and Doncaster all over again. The man is the king of his court here, the players love him, the fans love him the board say they love him. Sometimes it's better to be in a place of love and happiness than gamble and it goes wrong and for him another failure may not be good for his career. However, take the O's to the championship and clubs in the Premier will be watching, achieving that on our budget would demonstrate he is capable and given a resource of greater value would see what he could do and show how good he is. Imo if lines could be read between fact and fiction being as boarders have pointed out RW is ambitious and a winner. Having sat directly behind the O's dug out at the Cambridge away game I noticed at first hand how driven he was during the game. An older and less fit person may have succumbed to a Cardiac arrest at his antics during the game. I suspect at one point with one or two additions in January he probably thought a play off place was for the taking. What went on over the DoF coffee pot why this didn't happen only the fly on the wall will know. If your going RW good luck to you for all your efforts in stabilising the ship and steering away from the rocks of relegation.

Hasn't Richie also said that we approached him a few years back but he let his heart rule his head and went to Doncaster Rovers instead or did I dream that. He was interviewed when Jacket was appointed but pulled out of the process to go back to Donny as manager.

If he goes, and he may not, then he leaves us in a far better place than when he joined. For that he deserves our thanks and best wishes. Who of us can begrudge him the opportunity to move on to better things, both financially and career wise. I’ll be delighted if he stays but will wish him every success if he goes. I think he will go for the following reasons 1)I don’t think Orient can match Riches ambitions 2) Barnsley is close to home and is more likely to be promoted to the championship than Orient. 3) He will be offered a sum of money that we could not match 4 ) He has had an extension to his current contract on the table for a few weeks. He said in one of post interviews that the contract offered will be signed one way or another. That tells you something is not quite right 5) He did not turn up on Saturday or Sunday evening 5 good reasons to think he will be off. Will he take Paul with him. Who knows.? He will be very hard to replace. At this moment in time I do not know of anybody . Any Ideas?

Perhaps he took a quick break away before the transfer market gets going?

Not too fussed about him not being at the awards. But I did find it hugely disrespectful that he wasn't at Shrewsbury.
By all means let Matt Harold take the game, that's a nice gesture. I endorse that.
Even not coming over to clap the fans at Shrewsbury is fine as it was Matty's moment.
But to just not be there (as far as I'm aware) is disrespectful to Shrewsbury.
At least sit there with Lingy or whoever was representing the O's in the stands.
If I'm wrong and he was there then I apologise.

If it must be,it must be.I am sure if he goes we will get a worthy successor.
Had some other bad news at 6.30 this morning telling that a dearly loved brother died at 6am in whipps Cross hospital. So pleased he knew his beloved Arsenal beat Spurs.

For what it's worth I do think if he was offered the Barnsley role he would take it.
I would hold no grudges and wish him well. He's been fantastic for us. Massive loss for us but we move on if needed.
It was always going to be a case with Richie about who would outgrow each other first. The club or the man.
That said. If he was to stay I'd be absolutely delighted.

Richie said he would be sitting in the stands for the Shrewsbury game. That's what I thought too. But I don't believe he was. TheydonO said in the match thread he was there. Oreo said he was passing notes down from the stand which got to Matt who made the subs, he mentioned Hunts sub in particular. Seems like he was there.

I've just read the Barnsley forum and someone has posted a twitter post saying as he was up north from the game he couldn't get back south for the awards night.
Make if that what you will.
The only way all this stops is if he signs the contract.

I don't believe the contracts are worth a thing nowadays as they have so many break clauses as Matt Porter has explained so many times.
You could sign a ten year contract but if it has a 6-month break or settlement clause it doesn't mean a thing.

Now 11/10 favourite. Next option drifts to 5/2. Money going on RW right now.

The value of a contract gives the manager some financial protection should they get the boot and the club some compensation if they go early. But it is very definitely not a guarantee that a manager will stay for the duration.

The potential situation is further worsened by Matt Harrold's depature imho Yes pity Matt Harrold has gone, he would have been a dependable safe pare of hands to full back on post RW !
